PNG Power will continue to provide electricity services during the State of Emergency

PNG Power Limited would like to assure electricity consumers and the general public that it will continue to play its role as the electricity service provider during this challenging time. We completely dispel rumours circulating on social media that there will be power outages nationwide and spreading information on planned strikes by employees. At this time, our primary concern is to ensure that there is power supply to all our customers nationwide. In the last two days, our teams have been on standby and attended to and restored power supply to our customers despite the serious security threat.

Electricity Services will not be affected this Festive Season

PNG Power Ltd would like to assure our customers and the people of Papua New Guinea that it will continue to provide electricity services across the country during this festive season. The front-page headline in the Post-Courier today (Friday, December 15) portrays a misleading message to our valued electricity consumers and stakeholders. All our operations teams throughout the country are working this holiday season to ensure that the power supply is maintained and that any unplanned outages that occur will be attended to as quickly and safely as possible and restored within a short turnaround time.

Voluntary Resignation of Chief Executive Officer, Obed Batia

On Monday 23rd October, Chief Executive Officer of PNG Power Limited (PPL), Obed Batia, submitted his letter of resignation to the Board of PPL, through the Office of the Chairman. The Board resolved to accept his voluntary resignation and would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Batia for his thirty-four (34) years of selfless service to the company. During his career, Mr. Batia spent thirteen (13) years in Executive Management roles, and lately as the Chief Executive Officer for the last two (2) years. Mr. Batia has contributed immensely to PNG Power Limited in the various roles he occupied over the years.

PNG Power Ltd (PPL) is a fully integrated power authority responsible for generation, transmission, distribution and retailing of electricity throughout Papua New Guinea and servicing individual electricity consumers.
