15 Mile Police receive vehicle from PPL
PNG Power handed over to 15 Mile police a brand new police vehicle to assist them with their operational duties.
As part of the company’s community obligation, the PPL Management made a decision to purchase the vehicle after seeing that the 15 Mile police have been handicapped for some time having to operate without a vehicle.
15 Mile is also an area of operation for PPL as its Rouna Hydro Power Station facilities and employee residential areas are located within the boundary.
The vehicle will provide an added resource to the 15 Mile police and also boost security for the surrounding community.
The vehicle, a latest Toyota 5th Element Double Cab cost over K140, 000, was fully kitted with all police vehicle accessories.
PPL is committed to this relationship with the 15 Mile police and especially the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) in supporting its work in safeguarding the country’s law and order and protecting the citizens of PNG.
The handing over of the new vehicle will see a more regular police presence on the road from Port Moresby to Sogeri.
PPL has also assisted the RPNGC in the past with a similar arrangement provided to the Yonki Police Station and others including accommodation assistance to Six Mile Police and the purchase of office furnitures for the Hohola Police Station, both in Port Moresby.
