Residents of the Yonki Township can now easily do their personal banking services, thanks to Bank South Pacific.

The burden of travelling into Goroka or Kainantu by residents of the Yonki Hydro Power Station and surrounding communities in Yonki, Eastern Highlands Province will now be a thing of the past, as BSP has set up a Rural Branch.

BSP and PNG Power Ltd, inked the lease agreement in Port Moresby on February 4 for the portion of land on which BSP Rural Yonki is located.

BSP Group CEO Ian Clyne and PPL CEO Tony Koiri signed the agreement, paving way for the BSP Rural Branch to operate and serve the PNG Power staff and surrounding communities.

BSP Rural in Yonki is part of BSP’s goal to extend the reach of its financial services, as well as grow the electronic banking eco-system.

Mr Clyne says BSP is pleased to partner with PPL and appreciate the support they have provided for BSP Rural to be set up in the heart of the Yonki community.

“These banking services will further add to our customer’s convenience.”

“The partnership is a major step towards offering efficient banking services to the rural masses and we are committed to providing our customers with services that meet their various needs and add extra value to their daily transactions,” Mr Clyne added.
